and the Wheel at Brighton lit up.
a bit miffed I missed out on the Burning of The Clocks Parade which took place on 2st, Winter Solstice, especially when it was just a stones throw away from here,     Photos can be seen on the BBC (Brighton) page.

Brighton

Good journey down - wet and miserable this morning but cheered up a little later.
New Landmaark on Brighton Seafront now:
Beautiful sunset over the town tonight
I've always loved Wind in the  Willows, Alice in Wonderland and the Moomins, was a bit concerned when I saw the To Let sign over this shop but happily it seems they are merely relocating

Only 3 days until Christmas Eve - going shopping in Brighton was as mad as ever!   Most of the shops are completely out of my price range, but hey it's fun to look!

Last week on TV

I enjoyed watching final of Strictly Come Dancing but also enjoyed watching Alesha's Street DanceStars - there are some seriously talented kids out there!     If you missed it check it out on BBC I Player CBBC..

Ladybirds

For past few months I have had to be careful when clearing debris in the garden as I have been continually disturbing Ladybirds, in hollow stems, amid foliage and this week in rolled dead leaves - must be hundereds of them - the majority seem to be the native 7 spotted Ladybird

Early November

Autumn is here - its a time of year I love.

Despite cooler nights flowers are still blooming in the garden and he Forget-me-Not obviously thinks spring is approaching.

Garden end of October

While having to wait in last week for workmen who never arrived managed to finish giving tree a trim so wasn't entirely a wasted day.

After the rain took these photos below - the Acer tree looked lovely but two days later not a leaf on it all blown off by the wind.

Wednesday

Just waiting in hotel  now for transport to ferry for journey home.
Spent the morning on a bust trip around the Island - weather warm and sunny!
waiting for bus at St Peter Port Bus terminal
Flower displays are still beautiful around the town and Island - apparently after flower festival at end of September they are usually all removed but this year they have been left

we had a lunchtime snack in Creaseys cafe with this Seagull observing us through window
